MD Anderson Cancer Center is one of the world's leading cancer treatment facilities, located in the Texas Medical Center. While it's outside our primary NW Houston zone, we serve MD Anderson patients and their families for notarizations that often carry significant urgency and emotional weight.
For urgent MD Anderson notarizations, calling is often the fastest option. Patient conditions and hospital timing can change quickly, and a phone call lets us coordinate in real time β (832) 514-2012.
MD Anderson Campuses We Serve
Texas Medical Center β higher travel fee
MD Anderson also operates outpatient facilities in various Houston locations. For patients at the main TMC campus, our travel fee reflects the longer drive from NW Houston.
Access & Parking at MD Anderson
MD Anderson has specific visitor and security protocols. Check in at the main entrance and obtain a visitor badge. Parking is available in the hospital's parking garage β rates vary. We recommend coordinating the appointment time with the patient's care team to avoid conflicts with treatment schedules, infusions, or rounds. Arrival and access may take longer than at community hospitals due to the size of the facility and security procedures.
What to Expect During the Visit
Notarizations at MD Anderson often involve patients facing serious or long-term diagnoses who need to formalize their medical and financial wishes. Many patients are from out of state and need documents notarized under Texas law during their treatment stay. We understand the unique emotional context of cancer treatment and conduct every appointment with the compassion and patience the situation requires.
We verify each signer's identity using a valid government-issued photo ID, confirm they are signing voluntarily, and apply the notary seal. The patient must be alert, willing, and able to understand the document being signed. If there is any concern about the patient's capacity, consult with the care team before we arrive β the notary cannot assess or determine competency. Family members serving as agents or additional signers should also have valid photo ID ready.
If your documents require witnesses and none are available at the hospital, we can provide them for an additional fee ($25 per witness). Do not count on hospital staff to serve as witnesses β most facilities do not allow it. Check with the attorney or party who prepared the documents to confirm whether witnesses are needed.
