What to Expect During the Visit
At Houston Methodist Willowbrook, we most commonly notarize medical power of attorney documents, advance directives, and HIPAA authorization forms. Many appointments involve elderly patients or patients preparing for surgery who want their medical and financial wishes documented before a procedure. We understand the urgency and emotional weight of these situations and conduct every appointment with care.
The notarization itself is straightforward: we verify each signer's identity using a valid government-issued photo ID, confirm they are signing voluntarily, and apply the notary seal to the completed documents. If you have any doubt about the patient's capacity, consult with the care team before we arrive — the notary cannot assess or determine competency.
